THE TRUE STORY OF REV. JOHN D. HAMILTON

…known by his drinking mates as ‘wee half-pint Hammy’ during his time as a barman in the pubs in Scotland. Due to his height, John would serve pints of beer standing on top of a beer-crate. Yet, amongst the laughter within the pubs, a day would come that a group of Faith Mission lads decided to pray for him and refused to stop praying for him, until he would have an encounter with God. Jesus came into his life and shortly afterwards he entered the Faith Mission College.

But his hard life was not about to end in Bible College…  As the working son, he was the bread-winner of the house; and when he left home to go to Bible College, his mother disowned him. Yet, in trusting God, his needs and that of his mother would be powerfully met!

Finishing Bible College as a pilgrim, he was sent out to his first Faith Mission series of meetings. On entering the caravan where he would stay during the campaign, the food cupboards were empty. His colleague panicked but John decided to pray… God would answer in a divine way.

Read how he shared his first testimony, so fearful, and he was standing on sugar in front of a packed room, to (at the end of his life), rising from his death bed to minister to one who had a lesser need.

This is a remarkable true story of a young man who fought conviction of the Spirit, through surrendering to the Spirit, to knowing how to walk in the Spirit. Be encouraged and inspired as you read ‘A Faith Mission Pilgrim.’

In retrospect, I wish this wonderful story of Reverend John Hamilton’s testimony and legacy would have been published back before 2010. My older brother, who could not break his addiction to alcohol, may have been inspired and convinced to move forward with the help and prayers being offered on his behalf, had he read, “A Faith Mission.” Hamilton’s testimony of how the Holy Spirit worked through others on his behalf, and was finally able to work through him, is a definite “Amen” and “Hallelujah!” I would highly recommend this as a read for anyone struggling with their addiction problems, faith, and lack of understanding as to how the Holy Spirit can help to work things out.

I couldn’t put this book down. I was inspired by how people fervently prayed for John Hamilton’s salvation and did not back down and retreat from his excuses. This book inspires boldness. I wish I could have met John, he had so much love and wisdom. He presents the reader with statements and questions as if he were face to face with you. His life story shows that God’s pursuit and transformation is there for anyone no matter where they have come from. A must read! Thank you Maurice Wylie Media!
